FlowRising answer
Mirrors amplify whatever they face. The practical question is not whether a mirror is good or bad in theory. It is what the mirror is reinforcing in normal daily use.
Good mirror placements often support daylight or broaden a room without making the eye busier. Weak placements reflect clutter, create surprise at the door, or overstimulate recovery zones like bedrooms.
If the room already feels visually noisy, edit the room first. A mirror is most helpful when it reflects relief, not when it multiplies pressure.
